Error when trying to file CO-17 return in a French operating system

by Intuit Updated 1 year ago

Customers must be:

  • Using ProFile R5 release; and
  • Preparing a Quebec corporate CO-17 return; and
  • Have a French operating system, and decimal format set to default; and
  • Trying to Netfile the CO-17 return.

Cause

The CO-17 XML file decimal point was replaced by a comma in the French operating system, e.g. 9.5000 turns into 9,5000. That fails the XML schema validation, and causes rejection of the transmission.

Resolution

  1. Close ProFile
  2. Go to the Control Panel, then go to Regional Settings > Additional Settings.
  3. Make sure the decimal symbol is set to a Period
  4. Click OK.
  5. Restart ProFile
