When installing ProFile on a computer running Microsoft Windows' 8 & 10, network folders cannot be used. Mapped network drives do not appear, and manually entering the drive location displays an error message claiming that the directory is invalid, incomplete, or write-protected.
This problem is due to a recently-discovered issue with InstallShield and network folders on Windows 8 and 10.
Workaround
Install ProFile on the local computer. If your workplace requires a network or workstation installation of ProFile, please Intuit support page.
