When opening a return in ProFile, several duplicate copies are automatically created and opened.
The common cause of this issue is the opening of a return in a second window using the right-click New Window feature and then saving without closing the additional window.
This issue can occur across any module and for any tax year.
- Close the duplicate copies of the return. Keep one copy open.
- Save the return using the Save option under the File drop-down menu in the top toolbar.
- Close the saved return.
- Reopen the return in ProFile. Only one copy of the return opens.
