Linking and working with T1/TP1 files for family members

A number of file management features make it possible to work with linked T1 or T1/TP1 files for members of the same family.
For example:
- Linking family returns
- Working with linked files
- Printing linked files
- Saving linked files
- Sharing income between spouses
- Sharing data between family members
- Estimating Child Tax Benefits
File management features
Feature | Function |
Optimize Tranfer Credits | When you open all family files together, ProFile optimizes transfer credits among the different returns. |
Switch Between Family Members | Use the toolbar icon, the Form menu, or the Window menu to switch between open files for members of a family. |
Print Family Files | When you select File -> Print for a linked file, the Print Selection dialogue box displays a tab for each family member whose file is currently open, so you can print returns for the whole family at once. |
File Properties | View the File Properties details for all family files open together and listed in the Window menu. |
Deactivate Family Files | Todeactivate the family file-handling features, clear the checkbox Allow family linking under Options -> Module -> T1/TP1 -> General -> Calculation options. |
