Register ProFile modules on a workstation installation
by Intuit• Updated 1 year ago
If ProFile is facing a module registration failure on a workstation installation, it means that ProFile isn't registering the tax modules properly in the Windows registry.
To resolve this issue, try the steps below.
Repair the server
- Remove the ProFile Workstation shortcut from the workstation desktop.
- On the server, go to the ProFile installation folder, right click on Proreg.exe and select Clear all, then select Register all.
- On the workstation, install ProFile from the installation folder from the mapped drive.
Run Proreg.exe on the workstation
If the module registry still fails, open the server's mapped drive on the workstation, right click on Proreg.exe and select Clear all, then select Register all.
Register the modules with a temporary full installation
- Delete the ProFile Workstation installation icon and restart the computer.
- Download the gpsetup.exe file from our website.
- Right-click on gpsetup.exe and choose Run as administrator.
- At the end of the installation, run ProFile and ensure that all modules are working.
- Go to Control Panel > Uninstall a Program > Remove ProFile.
- Restart the computer.
- Reinstall the Workstation and run ProFile.
