Allocate Multiple Jurisdiction income on T5013 slip
by Intuit• Updated 1 year ago
To allocate Partnership Income to more than one province in a Multiple Jurisdiction situation:
- Launch the ProFile FX module to either prepare a brand new partnership return or to carry forward an existing return to prepare the next year-end T5013 slips. To prepare the return for the first time, you enter the basic partnership information on the Info screen. For an existing partnership return, you carry forward the previous year return to prepare the return for the next year-end filing.
- Go to the T5013 Summary schedule to enter the Partnership income data in T5013 Summary - for example, Partnership's total gross income box 34 and Net business income loss box 35. Assume that the partnership's gross and net business income need to be allocated to both Alberta and British Columbia.
- To allocate Partnership's total gross income to both provinces (AB & BC) based on the income type, go to the section Canadian and foreign net business income (loss) and enter the appropriate information in the free format area.
4. Also, make sure that you have completed the section Calculate Partner's share (%) of partnership income (loss) using: to ensure linking of T5013 Summary with T5013Detail for data transfer. The data flow is from T5013 Summary to T5013Detail to create T5013 slips that are issued to the partners.
5. Go to T5013Detail screen and enter the partner's information (for new files). If the partnership return is carried forward from previous year, then the partnership information gets transferred next year automatically. Enter the Capital Account data in the Capital Account section on the T5013Detail screen.
6. Display the T5013 slip to check the income allocated to different provinces.
