EFILE error 2288 when changing marital status

In a coupled return, if a date of death is entered for one taxpayer, the spouse's marital status will change to widow automatically. There is no need to change the surviving spouse's marital status.

If the surviving spouse passes away, and the return is still coupled, do not enter the date of death on the spouse's return.
