Can non-residents claim GST credits?
by Intuit• Updated 2 years ago
Claiming GST Credit for non-residents falls under specific circumstances.
In certain cases, non-resident can claim GST Credit (for example, temporary work or working in Canada).
However, ProFile is not equipped to handle these situations. This necessitates manually overriding the GST amount on the GST worksheet.
Note: If you override GST, client letter will not show GST credit.
For a non-resident spouse receiving GST credit
GST for a non-resident spouse falls outside of the above circumstances.
Override the amount to $0 and sign off.
