Import data from Sage
by Intuit• Updated 1 year ago
The standardization of GIFI means that you can easily export data from your accounting software, such as Sage, or from working papers software (such as CaseWare) and import it into ProFile T2.
There are several ways to do this:
- Create or open a T2 tax return file. Select File > Import from the main menu. Browse for and select the GIFI (.GFI) export file. You can import GIFI data at any time while you work on the return.
- In the Windows environment, drag and drop a GIFI export file onto the ProFile icon or Edit window. ProFile creates a new T2 return and automatically completes the GIFI schedules and identification fields.
- In the Windows environment, drag and drop a GIFI export file onto an open T2 tax return. If the return already contained GIFI data, ProFile will clear previous GIFI amounts before importing from the drag-and-drop process.
A single GIFI export file may contain data from multiple income statements. ProFile will import and report these amounts correctly.
