Don't see Box 81 on the T4 slip

SOLVEDby IntuitUpdated 1 year ago

In ProFile, self-employment income is reported on form T2125 as Sales, commissions, or fees.

  1. To report self-employment income on a T4 slip, select the employment code in box 29 by clicking on the drop-down list to select the appropriate employment code.
  2.  As a result, Box 14 (Employment income) on the T4 slip is blank, and ProFile will not calculate the EI insurable earnings in Box 24 or the CPP/QPP pensionable earnings in Box 26. ProFile calculates the CPP/QPP on Schedule 8.
  3. To calculate the EI and CPP contribution on self-employment income, enter manually the EI insurable earnings in Box 24 and the CPP/QPP pensionable earnings in Box 26 on the T4 slip. Since income reported in Box 81 is self-employment for tax purposes, make sure that the EI and CPP amounts are not entered automatically.
  4. Go to Schedule 8 and enter 0 on line 1.
