ProFile is blocked or unable to access a folder

Sometimes ProFile can't create a folder or write to a directory. This is often due to Windows Security settings. Windows Security has a feature called Controlled folder access that prevents unknown or unauthorized apps from changing certain folders. However, sometimes it mistakenly flags a safe app like ProFile as harmful.

In other scenarios, Windows Security blocks ProFile completely and you need to add a Windows Security exception. You will sometimes receive a pop-up box informing you ProFile has been blocked by Windows.
