Carry forward password protected returns

ProFile is unable to carry forward returns prepared with another software if they have been password protected. The password has to be removed from each of the returns before carrying them forward.

  1. Open each of the returns individually.
  2. Go to File Information by pressing Alt + F8.
  3. Erase the password.
  4. Confirm the blank password when you are prompted.
  5. Save the file.

The returns will be ready to be carried forward in ProFile

Note: If no password is visible in the File Information box (see step 2, above), go to Options > Preferences > Files and make sure Allow Password is selected.
