Microsoft support ended for Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2
by Intuit• Updated 1 year ago
As of January 14, 2020, Microsoft no longer provides security updates or support for computers running Windows 7.
Computers still running Windows 7 are now more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. ProFile products installed on Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2 will not be sent software updates, have the ability to EFILE to the CRA with tax year 2019 and later returns, or have the most up-to-date product safeguards. In addition, users are no longer able to install ProFile on any of the above operating systems or servers.
Microsoft recommends that Windows 7 users upgrade to Windows 10, which can provide the latest security updates to help keep you and your data safer.
ProFile will support:
- Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
- Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019
Review these instructions to determine which Windows operating system you are using.
If you are currently using Windows 7, follow these steps to migrate your ProFile returns, data, and settings to a new operating system.
