Note: ProFile contains very sensitive data. Intuit won't be responsible for security or other reliability issues for ProFile running on Windows 10 systems.
Microsoft is set to deprecate Windows 10 as of October 14, 2025. After this date, Windows will no longer provide free security updates or technical Support will be available for Windows 10. This can impact the security and reliability of any programs running on your system. We strongly encourage you to upgrade for free to Windows 11 to continue getting Microsoft Support.
If you choose not to upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10, we strongly recommend purchasing the Extended Security Upgrade (ESU) program to keep your device secure.
How does this impact me?
Operating System | Impact |
Windows 11 | No impact |
Windows 10 with Extended Security Updates (ESU) program | You can continue to use ProFile with Windows 10 for the 2025 tax year. |
Windows 10 without Extended Security Updates (ESU) program | You can continue using ProFile with Windows 10 without buying the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for the 2025 tax year. However, your computer may be at risk. After October 14, 2025, Windows will only give security updates and patches to Windows 10 customers who purchase the ESU. |
