If you're assigned to an Alberta jurisdiction on the Info page, you won't be able to file your AT1 return under EFILE. Review the Alberta filing exemption checklist, form AExempt, in the Form Explorer. If all exemption criteria questions are answered Yes, the AT1 return doesn't need to be filed for that year.
If you still want to file the AT1, change, one of the exemption criteria answers to No. The option to Netfile the AT1 will appear under the EFILE menu.
Any corporation that meets the following criteria will be eligible to net-file the Alberta corporate income tax return:
- The return is not exempt from filing (check the Aexempt form)
- The return has a valid Alberta Corporate Account Number
- The taxation year ends after December 31, 2007, and (In this case, we won't see the Netfile option under EFILE)
- The return being net filed is not an amended return
