Configuring ProFile for new T1 users

If you are using ProFile for T1 filing for the first time, follow the steps below. The list will help you set up ProFile and get ready to use the software.
Initial setup includes the following steps:

Tip: To understand preferences in each tab, select F1 on your keyboard for a description of each preference.
Configure general T1 settings
- Select Options in the top toolbar menu.
- Select the Module option
- Select the T1/TP1 module tab.
- Select the General tab.
- Select settings that are specifically for working with T1 returns. These can include file management settings, a disclaimer that appears on forms, and a form header that will print on all forms.
- Select OK.Â

Configure database settings
- Select Options > Database in the top toolbar menu.
- Select the applicable database and options.Â
- Select OK.Â

Configure tax preparer information
- Select Options > Environment in the top toolbar menu.
- Select the Preparer tab.
- Enter your preparer's information and select OK.Â

Configure discounter information
- Select Options > Environment in the top toolbar menu.
- Select the Trustee tab.
- Enter your discounter's information and select OK.Â

Configure EFILE options
- Select EFILE > Options in the top toolbar menu.
- Select the module required to EFILE. You will be prompted to enter your EFILE number and password.

Review the Options menu
Find many settings and options in the Options menu at the top. ProFile has the default options you need already selected, so you can take advantage of its functionality.
Review the options under the Options menu to see if there are any changes you'd like to make.Â
