Access Violation error encountered when carrying forward T2 Taxprep files

Issue

The following error displays when carrying forward T2 Taxprep files:

The full message reads "Access violation at address 00970F8C in module 'ProFile.exe'. Read of address 0000001C".

Resolution

1. Review our support article "Carry forward other supplier files" and ensure that your Taxprep version is supported.

2. If it is supported, open the Taxprep file in the supported version of Taxprep.

3. Navigate to the ATTS form; this is a Taxprep-only form and cannot be carried forward.

4. Delete the ATTS form.

5. Save the Taxprep file using the Save As option in Taxprep.

6. Attempt the carry forward again in ProFile with the newly-saved Taxprep file.

Contact ProFile support if the carry forward issue continues to occur.
