Receiving a warning for the Prescription Drug Insurance Plan for Quebec
by Intuit• Updated 1 year ago
You may see a "You chose to pay your spouse's premium, you should leave this field blank" warning on the T1 Info page.
If one of the spouses is covered by a medical plan premium, they may elect to pay the premium for the other spouse if they are not covered by their own plan.
In the Provincial Information - Quebec section, on the T1 module, if a spouse opts to make this payment, respond Yes to Do you choose to pay your spouse's premium?
Leave Prescription Drug Insurance Plan: blank. The spouse's will automatically select option 20: Your spouse has provided your information.
The calculations and coverage appear on the TP1K... at the bottom of the form on the return of the spouse making the payment.
Alternatively, if one spouse has coverage with their own medical plan, this spouse would have chosen 16: You were covered by your spouse/parent (member of an insurance plan), while the other spouse would select 14: You were covered by a group insurance.
