by Intuit• Updated 1 month ago
Every time a new printer is selected in the print dialogue, Windows sets that printer as the default printer.
To switch this feature off, follow these instructions:
Windows 10
- Locate and open Settings.
- Go to Devices > Printers and Scanners.
- Find the option named Let Windows manage my default printer. Make sure this tab is set to Off.
Windows 11
- Locate and open Settings.
- Search for Printer and Scanners in the search bar, and then select it
- Locate the option named Let Windows manage my default printer.
- Make sure this tab is set to Off.
