Allowing a program through the Microsoft Firewall

Allow a program through the firewall

1. Exit ProFile.
2. Open the Control Panel.
3. In the top-right corner, type Firewall and then select Windows Firewall.
4. Select Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall. Check to see if ProFile is listed
5. If ProFile isn't listed, navigate to the ProFile installation folder. By default, ProFile is installed in C: Program Files (x86) > ProFile.
6. Select ProFile.exe and then Open.
7. Select Add.
8. Repeat steps 5 to 7 and add the following applications to the firewall:
   • Profiledbservice.exe
   • Profiledbserver.exe
   • ProfileUpdater.exe

Important: When you add Profiledbserver.exe, Windows Firewall renames the application to FlashFile Server.

If you're having trouble setting up a shared database server, you may also need to add exception rules in Advanced Settings.
