20010: Your software is invalid

To fix the error message Error 20010: Your software is invalid with the tax return open in ProFile, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to File > Properties.
  2. Change the Client Status to anything apart from what it currently is.
  3. Change the EFILE Status/AT1 Status/CO-17 Status to Eligible.
  4. Uncheck CRA Errors/RQ Errors/AT1 Errors depending on what return you are electronically filing/EFILEing.
  5. Save the return.
  6. Close the return.
  7. Open the return again using File > Open instead of File > Reopen.
