ProFile users sometimes encounter an error during the EFILE process. Find your issue below for help.

Set up ProFile to EFILE T1 and T2 returns

Review these support articles to ensure you're set up to EFILE returns in the T1 or T2 modules.

Resolve EFILE error "Failed to initiate the transaction"

An error may occur during the transaction when sending a return to the CRA, such as "Failed to initiate transaction."

Check the ProFile version and ensure that it is up-to-date. If not, update to the latest version.

If the error persists, the cause may be due to one of the following situations:

  • High security settings on the computer
  • A network disruption
  • Settings changed via a recent Windows update
