
Help with EFILE errors

Note:Â Troubleshooting methods for an EFILE error code may vary depending on the tax year. Commencing with the 2019 tax return, the CRA has renumbered several line items, and error messages may not be relevant for the tax year you are working on.
Review Chapter 2 of the CRA guide to see the latest error messages.
The ProFile support team can help troubleshoot rejected returns caused by some EFILE error codes. However, they can’t help with EFILE errors about info or balances the CRA has on file (like EFILE errors about HBP balance).
ProFile customers will need to contact the CRA for the correct amounts to avoid rejection.

EFILE Error 2130
A current year immigration date is recorded with the Canada Revenue Agency, but not on this return.
EFILEÂ Error 2250
The amount claimed for Home Buyers Plan repayment on line 246 of Schedule 7 and/or line 5883 of RC383 is more than the maximum amount.
EFILEÂ Error 2252
The Home Buyers' Plan (HBP) repayment amount at field 246 on Schedule 7 or field 5883 on RC383 is less than required. Or, there's an amount at field 129 for HBP repayment, but field 5508 is blank.
EFILEÂ Error 2302
The home buyer's tax credit listed on line 369 of Schedule 1 is more than the maximum allowed.
Make sure all data has been entered correctly. If the return is correct, contact the CRA and confirm their data matches the tax preparer's information.
