Electronically File Your T3010 Charity Return in ProFile via CRA My Business Account

by Intuit• Updated 3 months ago

The CRA has begun to let registered charities and their authorized representatives submit the T3010 Charity Return digitally through the CRA's My Business Account portal.

With ProFile version 2024.5.0, you can file the T3010 Registered Charity Information Returns and related schedules (T1235, T1236, T1441, T2081) with a fiscal year end of January 1, 2024, or later, directly to CRA.

The Profile FX 2024 module (and later modules) is approved to create the needed XML-coded text file, ready for direct upload. This will make the submission process easier.

If you don't have permission to file the return through My Business Account, you can still print and mail the returns to the CRA.

Note: Only charities with fiscal periods ending on or after January 1, 2024, are able to to use this internet filing method. For fiscal periods ending on or before December 31, 2023, you may continue to print and mail the returns to the CRA.

Electronic submission of T3010 charity returns: (Step-by-step guide):

  1. Prepare Your Return: Complete your Charity return using the FX 2024 module (or any subsequent modules).
  2. Indicate Internet Filing: On the T3010 form itself, ensure you select the option indicating your intent to submit the return electronically. This action will enable the electronic filing process.
