Invalid SIN error in ProFile using the FX Module

When an wrong SIN is entered, Profile will show a Mag Media Error, and Internet filing slips won't be possible.

Note: Signing off or unchecking Warnings under Options > Environment > Audit won't resolve the issue.

You need to show the CRA that you made a reasonable effort to get the SIN. If you can’t find the SIN, you can still file slips without it.

Resolution

To circumnavigate this situation in ProFile, enter 000 000 000 as the SIN.
