ProFile users encounter the error "The element ‘NoControleDecl’ has incomplete content"

ProFile users may encounter the following error:

The element ‘NoControleDecl’ has incomplete content. List of possible elements expected: ‘NoPrep.'

Cause

This error is the result of missing Ministry of Revenue Québec (MRQ) filing credentials.

Resolution if paper filing

1. Navigate to the Info tab of the return.
2. Navigate to the Québec section.
3. Set the response to the question "Efile this return?" to No.

Resolution if filing electronically

MRQ requires a separate application for NetFile credentials to file a TP1. If you don't have MRQ credentials, contact Revenu Québec to acquire a NetFile QC Number and access code before attempting the following solution.

1. Select EFILE and then Options… The Electronic Filing Options window displays.
2. Select T1, and then select TP1 Internet.
3. Enter the values for CRA Preparer Number, NetFile QC Number, and Access Code.
4. Select OK after adding the values.

The error should be resolved.
