Microsoft support ended for Windows Server R2 2012

As per Microsoft’s announcement, support for Windows Server R2 2012 will end on October 10, 2023 and Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for computers running Windows Server R2 2012.
As a result, ProFile users are requested to upgrade their operating systems to the latest version of Windows. After October 10, 2023 programs may experience security and/or unreliability issues running on Windows Server R2 2012 and Intuit will not be responsible for security and/or other unreliability issues for ProFile running on Windows Server R2 2012 systems. You will need to install ProFile on a supported operating system listed in our system requirements.
ProFile products installed on Windows Server R2 2012 will not be sent software updates, have the ability to EFILE the current tax year to the CRA, or have the most up-to-date product safeguards. In addition, users are no longer allowed to install ProFile on any of the above operating systems or servers.

How do I migrate my files from my old computer to a new one?

Should I backup my files before updating my computer?
Windows update is usually a smooth update with no difficulties, and your personal data and installed software should not be affected by the update. However, you should always have a backup of your personal files even if you are not upgrading your operating system, as you can never predict when things may go wrong.
What will happen to my personalized Templates?
If you’re purchasing a new computer templates can be transferred along your returns and files so nothing is lost. If you’re upgrading your existing computer, we recommend you backup your files but otherwise there will be no changes to the files or location where they are stored.
Will I have the same form selections and print setup?
There will be no changes to existing ProFile options. You can also carry forward your print selections.
Will fonts or resolution change?
The TY22 software release included the 4K screen resolution support (commonly used in the consumer market). This allows users to be able to view and access ProFile properly.
Fonts on ProFile have not changed.
Is the Install Wizard and setup the same?
No changes have been made to the installation process.
