by Intuit• Updated 11 months ago
You may encounter an "Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application" error when inputting a license.
If this error occurs, it could be the result of an older license record already entered in the system.
- Close ProFile.
- Select the Windows start icon in the bottom-left corner of your PC screen.
- Begin typing "control panel" on your keyboard; the Control Panel app option displays.
- Select Control Panel; the Control Panel opens.
- Select Appearance and Personalization, then File Explorer Options.
- Select the View tab.
- Under Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives, then OK.
- Open Windows Explorer.
- Navigate to the following directory: C:\ProgramData.
- Open the ProgramData folder.
- Locate and right-click on the Greenpoint folder. Select the Rename option and rename the existing folder to Greenpoint.old.
- Re-open ProFile and add the license.
