ProFile System Requirements

Required Computer Configuration

  • Internet connectivity is required for activation, licensing, automatic updates, and additional ProFile features (e.g. EFILE)
  • Network/workstation install UNC path is not supported
  • ProFile requires operating system Windows 10™, Windows 11, Windows Server 2016 and 2019
  • .NET 4.8 installation & registration are required

NOTE:

  • The current version of ProFile works with Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server 2016 and 2019
  • Apple™ products are not supported.

To get the best results from your software, ProFile requires the following minimum configuration:

Processor:
  • 2.4 GHz dual-core processor
Operating System:
  • Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 and 2019
    Please Note:
    • 32-bit operating systems no longer supported
    • Since Windows 10S does not support the installation of applications outside of Microsoft's app store, ProFile use is not supported by Windows 10S.
Memory (RAM):
  • 4 GB or higher
Hard Drive space:
  • 4 GB for installation
Printer:
  • Windows compatible printers
Display:
  • 1024 x 768 minimum resolution
  • 16-bit or higher colour
Internet:
  • A high-speed Internet connection is recommended
  • ProFile uses Chromium as the embedded browser (for in-product rendering of browser during activities like- login to Intuit Account)
    Note: As per Microsoft's announcement, Internet Explorer (IE) 11 desktop application will end support for certain operating systems starting June 15, 2022. It is recommended for users to update to ProFile Release Version 2021.4.7 or above
Others:
  • Network connectivity is required for database sharing and sharing returns or plans between ProFile users
  • eReview feature requires a MAPI email client and a PDF reader application (for example: Adobe PDF Reader®)
  • DVD-ROM drive (if ProFile is ordered on DVD)
  • Network connectivity: When wanting to share databases of returns or plans between users of ProFile, Classic Database requires any kind of Windows network where files can be shared and accessed by different computers. Client Explorer requires a network based on the TCP/IP or IPX/SPX Network protocols**.
  • eReview feature requires a MAPI email client (Outlook/Windows Mail, Outlook 2007/2010/2013)

Client System requirements for Intuit Sign

  • Valid email address
  • Personal mobile device with SMS capabilities for 2 factor authentication.
  • Personal mobile devices must be with Bell, Rogers or Telus as the mobile carrier for authentication purposes.
  • Personal information provided to mobile carriers must be up to date. (ex. First Name, Last Name, Address)
  • Computer, tablet or mobile device for signing
  • Internet connectivity is required for viewing, signing and sending completed document back to Tax Professional
